Naomi Watts

 

Naomi Ellen Watts was born 28 September 1968. Her film debut was in Australia in For Love Alone (1986), followed by three television series: Hey Dad.. (1990), Brides of Christ (911) and Home and Away (1991) and Flirting (1991). Watts moved to America in 2000. She initially struggled as an actor. In fact, she was only able to get tiny roles in films, before becoming an actress of the future in David Lynch's Mulholland Drive psychological thriller. Her rise to global fame was spurred by the role. Watts then portrayed a tortured journalist in the film adaptation of The Ring (2002). Her performance as a mother with grief in Alejandro's 21 Grams (2003) was nominated for an Academy Award. Watts' star power continued to grow when she was featured in I Heart Huckabees (2004). King Kong (2006), Eastern Promises ((2007)) and The International (2009). Watts was nominated for an Academy Award as Best Actress for her performance in The Impossible (2012). She starred in films like Birdman (2014) St. Vincent (2014) and While We're Young (2015). Watts kept her acting career going through major roles in blockbusters, including Divergent (2015-2016).
